E-Freight AMS FAQs

How do I obtain a SCAC code?

SCAC codes can be obtained from the National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) located in Alexandria, VA. The phone number is: (703) 838-1810. Or visit their web site at: www.nmfta.org/scac2.htm. After you receive the SCAC code from the NMFTA, you should contact the U.S. Customs Service, Office of Information and Technology at (703) 921-7173 for input into the Automated Commercial System.

Fax a copy of your NMFTA letter of notification with your assigned SCAC to:

             Customs and Border Protection
